Christmas Tree Recycling
Posted Date: 12/26/2007

Carson City is pleased to once again offer Christmas Tree Recycling in cooperation with Capital Sanitation/Waste Management, Inc.  As in previous years Christmas trees can be placed curbside on your regular collection day or taken to one of the drop-off locations.  Trees will be chipped in the springtime and given to local residents to use for mulch in their yards.  This program continues to be a huge success.  Carson City would like to thank everyone for their participation.  Last year we were able to redirect 55.15 tons of wood waste from our landfill.  The dates for tree collection are as follows:

Curbside collection - on your regular trash day:
December 26 thru December 28 and January 1 & 2

Drop boxes will be at the following locations from December 26 thru January 2 ONLY:
JC Penney Parking Lot
Northtown Shopping Center (Old Super K-Mart)
Carson City Corporate Yard/Butti Way
Carson City Renewable Resources
Carson City Landfill

After January 2, please take your Christmas Tree to one of the following locations for recycling:
Carson City Renewable Resources
Carson City Landfill

PLEASE NOTE:
Remove all decorations, lights, tinsel and bases from the tree before recycling.
