F-1 HRC-10-102 Action to consider a request from Al Salzano (property owner: Herman Bauer) to demolish the existing single family residence, carriage house, and shed with the replacement of a 8-unit apartment complex, on property zoned Residential Office (RO), located at 812 North Division Street, APN 001-191-06. Staff Summary: This plan amends the plan previously reviewed and conceptually approved in December 2010 by the Historic Resources Commission. The property owner is requesting the demolition of the existing single family residence, which has been unoccupied for years, is in poor condition, and has been owned by the current property owner for approximately one year. The property owner is also requesting to allow the construction of a new multi family apartment project of two (two-story), four-plex buildings in a Bungalow/Craftsman style to blend in with the historical characteristics of the area.
F-2 HRC-11-034 Discussion only regarding the Historic District National Nomination. (Jennifer Pruitt)
Staff summary: The National Register of Historic Places is the Nation's official (honorary) list of cultural resources worthy of preservation. Authorized under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Register is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect our historic and archeological resources.
This is the first of multiple invitations to the property owners of the project area to participate in this process. Our purpose is to gather citizen comments through a series of meetings and then proceed with the proposed nomination, if acceptable, in the fall of 2011.
F-3 HRC-11-006 Discussion only regarding an update of the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) grant for 2010. (Jennifer Pruitt)
Staff summary: Planning Division staff will provide the HRC and the general public with an update of the 2010 Historic Preservation Fund grant # 32-10-21935(1).
F-4 HRC-10-112 Discussion and possible action: Amending the qualifications for membership in CCMC 18.06.025. (Jennifer Pruitt)
Staff Summary: At the April 27, 2011 the Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend to the BOS approval of ZCA-11-019, a Zoning Code Amendment, an ordinance amending the Carson City Municipal Code Title 18, Zoning, Chapter 18.06, Historic District, Section 18.06.025, Qualifications of Membership, to change the current HRC qualifications for membership.
The intention of this item is to update the Historic Resources Commission of the Planning Commission’s action on April 27, 2011 and to discuss a minor possible amendment to the language presented by staff. (Jennifer Pruitt)
