Dave Dawley moved to Nevada after being Honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1989. He spent four years in the Real Estate business in the Carson/Dayton Area before joining the Assessor’s Office in 1993. He was hired as a Personal Property Appraiser and worked his way up to the position of Chief Deputy Assessor in 1999. Dave was elected Assessor in 2002, 2006 and was reelected for a third term in 2010.
Dave has an Associates Degree in General Business and received an Accounting Degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. He has successfully completed the Nevada’s Property Tax Appraiser Certification Program and is certified in both Real and Personal Property. He is a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers, Nevada Assessors Association and also Kiwanis. Dave has worked as an advocate for the Nevada tax payers in the last six Nevada Legislative Sessions.
