CALL TO ORDER
ROLL CALL AND DETERMINATION OF QUORUM
Members of the public who wish to address the Cultural Commission may come forward and speak on matters related to the Commission. Comments may be limited to three minutes per person or topic. If your item requires extended discussion or action, please request the Chairperson to schedule the matter for a future meeting. No action may be taken on a matter raised under this item of the agenda until the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an item upon which action may be taken.

A. For Possible Action: To approve the Nevada Arts Council’s request for the Cultural Commission to become a sponsor of the fifth annual Arts @ the Heart Convening on April 22 and 23, 2013, in Carson City and for the Commission members to support the event. B. For Possible Action: To support a proposal by Commissioner Jeffery Scott to bring a special arts and cultural event called “The Wild Horses of Carson City” to the community in 2013 (Jeffery Scott, Commission Member / Vern L. Krahn)
C. For Possible Action: To approve a Public Art Program Ordinance and solicit comments on the document from City department heads, the local arts and cultural community, developers, community and business leaders, and the public. (Roger Moellendorf / Vern L. Krahn)
D. For Possible Action: To approve the design competition guidelines for a “Call for Artists” to design new cultural banners for the streetlight poles along Fairview Drive. (Vern L. Krahn)
4. NON-ACTION ITEMS - DISCUSSION ONLY
A. Update on the State of Nevada’s planning efforts for Nevada’s sesquicentennial (NV150) celebration. (Peter Barton / Vern L. Krahn)
B. Update on Nevada Assemblyman Peter Livermore’s legislation (Bill Draft Request 493) to provide access to the decommissioned Nevada State Prison for the operation of a non-profit education museum by the Nevada State Prison Preservation Society. (Vern L. Krahn)
C. Update on the Nevada State Prison Preservation Society’s acquisition of the decommissioned Nevada State Prison’s historic law library. (Vern L. Krahn)
D. Update on the completion of the Carson City Freeway (Northern Leg) aesthetic treatments and landscaping project. (Vern L. Krahn)
5. MEMBERS’ ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION
