Welcome to our hazardous materials information site. Hazardous materials are a common and important part of our everyday life. When properly controlled, these materials are useful elements in business, industry, agriculture, and at home. Uncontrolled, they may present a hazard to health and safety, the environment, and property. To meet the risks posed by hazardous materials, cooperative, concerted, and continuing efforts are being made to locate, identify, and quantify hazardous materials used and transported in Carson City; and to prepare to respond to any emergencies involving hazardous materials in the city.
