NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
OPEN SPACE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Open Space Advisory Committee will work to sustain natural and scenic resources and the long term quality of life in Carson City.
Reporting to the Board of Supervisors, the Open Space Advisory Committee will develop, oversee, and support the Open Space Program by working in concert with staff and the public to acquire, interpret, preserve, and enhance natural landscape, agriculture, and cultural resources while balancing the needs of the public’s opportunities for passive recreation.

Members of the public who wish to address the Open Space Advisory Committee may come forward and speak on matters related to the Committee. Comments may be limited to three minutes per person or topic. If your item requires extended discussion or action, please request the Chairperson to schedule the matter for a future meeting. No action may be taken on a matter raised under this item of the agenda until the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an item upon which action may be taken.
1. ACTION ON APPROVAL OF MINUTES
2. MODIFICATIONS TO THE AGENDA
Agenda Management Notice - Items on the agenda may be taken out of order; the public body may combine two or more agenda items for consideration; and the public body may remove an item from the agenda or delay discussion relating to an item on the agenda at any time.
Items scheduled at a specific time cannot be heard earlier than the scheduled time per Open Meeting Law requirements.
3. MEETING ITEMS
A. Discussion and Possible Action: To recommend to the Board of Supervisors a letter be sent to the Bureau of Land Management conveying concerns related to management and stewardship of the Prison Hill Recreation Area and Silver Saddle Ranch. (Juan F. Guzman)
B. Discussion only regarding amendments to Carson City Municipal Code Chapter 13.06 in order to incorporate certain provisions and regulations applicable to the Open Space Program and other matters related thereto. (Juan F. Guzman and Tina Russom)
C. Discussion only regarding activities, projects, and grants located within the Carson River corridor. (Juan F. Guzman and Ann Bollinger)
D. Discussion only regarding activities, projects, and grants throughout other areas of the Open Space Program. (Juan F. Guzman and Ann Bollinger)
E. For Possible Action: To authorize the Chairman’s signature and to recommend to the Board of Supervisors for the Mayor’s signature on a letter of support for a National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Desert Terminal Lakes grant submitted by the Nevada Land Trust for the acquisition of the Benna-Marshall 45-acre parcel located at the top of Ash Canyon Road. F. For Possible Action: To recommend to the Board of Supervisors approval of the FY 2014-2015 budget for the Open Space Program. (Juan F. Guzman and Roger Moellendorf)
