SAMPLE BALLOTS

If you are a registered, active voter in Carson City, you should receive your Sample Ballot prior to the start of early voting.  If you do not receive a Sample Ballot please contact the Carson City Clerk's office at (775) 887-2087 to verify your mailing address.  Location and hours of early voting, as well as location and hours for voting on election day, will appear on your Sample Ballot.

Please bring your Sample Ballot with you when you appear to vote.  

 

EARLY VOTING

Early voting is available for two (2) weeks prior to election day at the Carson City Clerk's office located in the Carson City Courthouse, 885 E Musser St., Ste 1025 (on the first floor).  For early voting hours please see above or refer to your Sample Ballot.

ELECTION DAY

Election day voting will be located at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E William St.  The hours of voting on election day are 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will be overflow voting available at the Carson City Clerk's office in the Carson City Courthouse, 885 E Musser St., Ste 1025 (on the first floor). 

MILITARY OR OVERSEAS VOTER

If you are a military or overseas voter please complete a Federal Post Card Application ("FPCA").  Please review the instructions for details.  For further assistance, please contact the Carson City Clerk's office by email at elections@carson.org or by telephone at (775) 887-2087.

ABSENTEE BALLOT

You may also vote by absentee ballot if you are unable to vote during early voting or on election day.  An absentee ballot is good only for the current election cycle no later than one (1) week prior to election day.

To obtain a Carson City absentee ballot request form click here; or, you may submit your written request to the Carson City Clerk's office.  Please provide the following information and be sure to sign your request:

  • Your full, legal name
  • Your physical residence within Carson City
  • Your mailing address if different than your physical address within Carson City
  • Which election you would like to vote by absentee ballot (Primary and/or General)
  • Sign your request

REMEMBER:    If you registered to vote by mail, you may be required to provide identification and proof of residency when you vote for the first time.  This includes submitting with your completed absentee ballot, a copy of your identification and proof of residency.

**  Please note, disabled voters will be given priority in voting at the polls or at the office of the Carson City Clerk, if requested.  Staff will take them to the front of the line to be processed at the sign-in table.
