I OLD STICKERSVOTED Sticker Design Competition

Design a fun and creative I VOTED sticker to replace our old ones!

Open to any student (grade 9-12) enrolled in any high school in Carson City.

Two original I VOTED sticker designs will be chosen and reproduced into 14,000 stickers for distribution at polling locations in the Community Center and Courthouse.

$100 award for each winner.

April 20: Deadline to submit sticker design

April 29: Two winners notified

April 30 – May 6: Any final editing /touch-ups

May 23 – June 5: YOUR STICKER available for Primary Election Early Voting!

June 9: YOUR STICKER available for Primary Election Voting Day!

‘The First Lady Presents…’ is a new collaboration between the Nevada Governor’s Mansion and the Carson City Department of Arts & Culture designed to recognize, promote, and celebrate contemporary Nevadan artists committed to elevating arts excellence. 

This initiative allows the opportunity for (1) contemporary Nevadan artist to display (3) temporary wall-hung artworks within the Nevada Governor’s Mansion in Carson City for (6) months.  At present, this exhibition opportunity identifies (3) locations within the Mansion available to visitors and tour groups.

The Carson City Cultural Commission, established in 2008 by Carson City Municipal Code Chapter 2.41, serves as the primary advisory body to the Carson City Board of Supervisors for matters relating to arts and culture for benefit of all residents and visitors. The Commission meets throughout the year at the Carson City Community Center’s Sierra Room, 850 East Williams St. (corner of N. Roop St.), Carson City, NV 89701. Meetings are typically held January, March, May, July, September, November on the 2nd Mondays of the month at 5:30 p.m.  Meetings are open to the public and televised liveContact Mark Salinas to confirm date and time.

Between 2014 and 2016, the Board of Supervisors took action to have the Cultural Commission and Parks and Recreation Department staff prepare an Arts & Culture Master Plan. In February 2016, the Board of Supervisors adopted this Arts & Culture Master Plan into the overall Carson City Master Plan. In October 2016 a full-time Arts & Culture Coordinator was hired through a 1% increase in transient occupancy tax. In March 2018, a Department of Arts & Culture was created under the City Hall.
