The 2019 Mayor’s Arts Awards is an inaugural event presented by the City Carson City Department of Arts & Culture and the Carson City Chamber of Commerce designed to recognize individuals and organizations committed to elevating arts excellence within the state capital.

Carson City Department of Arts and Culture in search of two muralists. The theme for the outdoor murals will be 'Reach for the Stars.' Each muralist will be given a $1,250 stipend.

The Meet the Marshal presentation on June 1, 2018 by U.S. Marshal Christopher Hoye was part of the many events in the True Grit’ series, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read.
From May 3 to June 5, 2018 the community celebrated the themes of Charles Portis’ True Grit with a full 30-day calendar of events including book giveaways and more.
The Commission meets throughout the year at the Carson City Community Center’s Sierra Room, 850 East Williams St. (corner of N. Roop St.), Carson City, NV 89701.
