EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2019, minors who wish to marry MUST be 17 years of age, a Nevada resident, and MUST obtain authorization from the District Court. (AB139, 2019 Legislative Session)
EFFECTVE OCTOBER 1, 2019, the new fee for all Minister/Officiant Applications submitted will be $30. (AB482, 2019 Legislative Session)
To be legally married in the State of Nevada you must apply for a marriage license and have a marriage ceremony. The license fee in Carson City is $75.00. ($60.00 license, $15.00 certified copy)
Payment may be made by cash or credit card (Visa or Master Card). A transaction fee of 3% of purchase will be added to the credit card order.
Both parties must appear together at the courthouse to show identification and to sign the license or application. Before you come in, you may wish to complete the Marriage License Application form to bring with you when you apply at our office. The marriage license/application is good for one-year after purchase.
If the license was purchased in Carson City, you may obtain a certified copy ($15.00) of a recorded marriage certificate. Please allow 2 weeks for your copies to arrive. All orders are returned via U.S. Postal Service.
By Mail: Complete a Marriage Record Request Form (PDF) and mail to Carson City Marriage Department, 885 E. Musser Street, Suite 1025, Carson City, NV, 89701 (request form is optional) but you must include pertinent information to identify marriage record and where to mail.

By Telephone with Credit Card (VISA or MC only): Call 775-887-2084 during regular business hours. A transaction fee of 3% of purchase will be added to the credit card order.
