Carson City Welcomes Your Business
The Business License office is available to assist you in completing your business license application and in obtaining other City required permits. All persons or companies conducting business in Carson City must obtain a business license prior to commencement of such business, whether operating from a fixed location in the City or coming into the City from an outside location.
The Carson City Permit Center encourages all applicants to submit their business license through the online permit center at permitcenter.carson.org. To submit your license application online, you will need to create an account at the online permit center the first time you use the service. On the main page of the online permit center website, click on the “Login or Register” tile to create a new account. Once you’ve registered, go to the Home screen from the top menu bar and click on the “Apply” tile. Then click on the Business Licenses tab, and scroll down to select the type of Business License for which you are applying and click on that particular “Apply” button. The website will guide you through the process. Links to required documents that must be submitted with your application are included within the website. Contact the Business License Division if you have questions regarding your business license application.
Before you apply, you will need a copy of your State business license to upload to the City’s permit center website. Go to the Secretary of State’s website at https://www.nvsos.gov/sos or visit their office at 101 N. Carson Street for more information regarding State licensing.
