Buffy Okuma is a 5th generation Nevadan. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno for undergraduate school and Lewis and Clark, Northwestern School of Law in Oregon for law school, graduating in 1995. Prior to working at the Carson City District Attorney’s Office, Buffy worked for the Nevada Gaming Control Board, was a Juvenile Master in Washoe County, was a Deputy District Attorney in Washoe County. She also was General Counsel for the Nevada Association of Realtors and was in private practice with the law firm of Woodburn and Wedge. Buffy was a chapter editor and author regarding juvenile law for the Family Practice Manual previously published by the State Bar of Nevada. The majority of Buffy’s legal career has focused on juvenile law.
