A. Call to Order and Determination of Quorum

B. Action on Approval of Minutes

C. Modification of Agenda: This is the tentative schedule for the meeting. The Historic Resources Commission reserves the right to take items in a different order to accomplish business in the most efficient manner.

D. Disclosures: Any members of the Commission that may wish to explain any contact with the public regarding an item on the agenda or business of the Commission.

E. Public Comments: Members of the public who wish to address the Commission may speak on matters related to the Historic Resources Commission. Comments are limited to three minutes per person. If your item requires extended discussion, please request the chairman to calendar the matter for a future meeting. No action may be taken on a matter raised under this item of the agenda until the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an item upon which action may be taken.

F. Public Hearing Matters

F-1 HRC-09-051 Action to consider an application from Jim Phalan (property owner: Lopiccolo Investments, LLC) to allow the installation of a dual back illuminated sign, measuring 7 feet, 2 inches by 6 feet, 6 inches, to be attached to the second story, above the balcony on the east side of the St. Charles Hotel, on property zoned Downtown Mixed-Use (DT-MU), located at 310 South Carson Street, APN 003-113-09. Staff summary: At this time the applicant is requesting to install a second story dual back illuminated sign above the balcony on the eastern façade of the St. Charles Hotel, proposed size (7’2” by 6’6”). The location of the proposed signage is on the Carson Street frontage.

F-2 Discussion only regarding an update of Certified Local Government grant 32-08-21733(3), Carson City Mid Century Survey, Phase II, Carson City Context and training opportunities for the HRC and residents of the Historic District.

Staff summary: The Planning Division staff will provide the HRC and the general public with an update to the status of the 2008 Certified Local Government grant.
